Who We Are

We’re freelancers, just like you. As such, our experiences and needs are much the same. As freelancers we all need ways to advertise our services, make contact with potential clients and grow our skills. This is why we built Freelancer Unplugged (Jonathan van Beek and Diesel Laws – 2009).

Our Mission

Freelancing is seen as a very ’solo’ activity. We aim to change that way of thinking by uniting freelancers and making it known to them that they are a part of the Freelancer Unplugged Community, which strives to teach, discuss, connect and lead everyone who wants to be involved.

What We Do

We host Freelancer Profiles and Group Forums, allowing freelancers to connect with clients, visitors and other professionals. We also encourage real world networking, hence the “Unplugged”. We run events where you will get to hear from freelancers just like you discussing all sorts of important questions, thoughts and processes.

The Freelancer Unplugged Panel

Our events are forums where you can ask questions to the panel, receive feedback and network with other like-minded individuals. We would encourage you to get involved in our events, either as a guest speaker or an audience member. The panel consists of several freelancers that each have something to teach based on their experiences. To make sure that our audience gets new and relevant information at each event, the panel members will change from time to time.
